The inflation rate in Bataan is at a low 2.1% in January 2024, according to the latest report from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Bataan Provincial Statistical Office.
In a virtual press conference held today, PSA Chief Statistical Specialist Francisco Corpuz revealed this positive trend wherein he compared it to December 2023 with 3% and the same month in 2023 with 11%, representing a notable improvement.
Bataan’s inflation rate of 2.1% also fares better than the entire Central Luzon region with 3.7%, indicating relative economic stability.
Corpuz attributed this slowdown to reduced inflation in essential sectors like restaurants, accommodation services, housing, utilities, personal care, and miscellaneous goods and services.
This decline reflects a more favorable environment for consumers and businesses, fostering confidence in the province’s economic outlook.
